Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will according to current reports be looking to complete the signing of his main summer transfer target.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be looking forward to the opening of the summer transfer window because he will wish to continue his building of the squad after getting back into Europe since they will need a big squad to compete in all competitions. A new report has now revealed that the gunners are close to signing their first signing as Arteta has made him his main summer transfer target.

Arsenal have according to most reports claimed that the gunners have been successful in convincing Eddie Nketiah to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium since his current contract was to expire at the end of June. A report by The Evening Standard claims that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will now spearhead the pursuit of Gabriel Jesus as he has now made him his main summer transfer target.

The report claims that Arsenal is hopeful that they can still get Gabriel Jesus even though they lost their chance of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season by finishing below the Premier League top four and that they will be confident that the project that Mikel Arteta is doing will be able to convince him to come to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are not the only club interested in Gabriel Jesus as its also claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are also in pursuit of the 25 year old striker but the gunners will be hopeful that their technical director Edu Gaspar having a connection with Brazilian players will play a big role in bringing him to the Emirates Stadium.
