Arsenal handed perfect opportunity to re-sign Serge Gnabry

Bayern Munich have reportedly set an asking price of €40m for Gnabry.

Arsenal have been handed the perfect opportunity to bring back Serge Gnabry as he enters the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich.

Gnabry is unsettled at Bayern with talks of extending his contract not making any progress. Reports claim the German champions are asking for €40m (£34m).

Bayern have begun pursuing Sadio Mane who would be a direct replacement for Gnabry if he departed.

€40m for a player of Gnabry’s class is exciting however, Arsenal’s challenge would be to convince the German winger to return to North London.

The Gunners missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, CL football would have made Arsenal a more attractive option.

No Champions League could prove to be a stumbling block when it comes to negotiations, Gnabry and his agent may demand for higher wages.

It is thought that the 26-year-old is impressed by the project that Mikel Arteta is currently undertaking and has strong sentiments for his former club.

“If possible, I’m watching the games because I still carry the gun in my heart. Of course, I’m happy when Arsenal is playing well & win, especially now, while Arsenal is coming back stronger.” Gnabry said in March.

Arsenal have the perfect chance to bring him back however, Mikel Arteta and team will have to lure him to return.

Gnabry finished the season with 17 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, primarily a winger, the German International can be deployed behind the main striker or as the main striker.
