Arsenal have two fitness concerns going into this weekend’s game against Leicester City.
Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe did not feature in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Watford due to injuries.
Tomiyasu has been struggling with a calf issue while Smith Rowe has had the COVID illness. Speaking in today’s press conference, Arteta hinted that Smith Rowe could be back for the Leicester clash.
“Well, he went through COVID. He’s feeling good now, he’s had a couple of training sessions and hopefully he can get the rhythm, the consistency and stay out of missing because he’s a really important player for us and we need him”. Arteta said.
However, Arteta said that Tomiyasu is still being assessed and his case requires a cautious approach.
“Tomiyasu we’re still assessing him because we’re taking some time to try to protect him and get him in the best and safest possible way”.
The Gunners will take on Leicester City on Sunday and will be looking to keep their place in the top four with a win.
