Report: Arsenal preparing £68m move for Dusan Vlahovic after meeting

Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a big money offer for the striker in January.

Arsenal are keen on signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic in January and are reportedly ready to meet the Italian side’s €80m (£68m) asking price.

This is according to Gianluca Di Marzio who reports that Fiorentina’s directors were in London over the last few days in talks with Arsenal over a transfer.

The report however claims that although the two clubs may have reached an agreement, there is not yet an agreement with the player and his agents at the moment. The in-demand striker is waiting to consider other offers before he makes a move.

Arsenal’s pursuit of a striker is inevitable given that Alexandre Lacazette’s time in north London is coming to an end and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is aging. The club must invest in a long-term replacement for the duo.

Vlahovic is one of Europe’s hottest prospects and has already amassed 8 goals in 11 appearances in the Serie A.

The Serbian talisman was among the top scorers in the Italian Serie A last term with 21 goals, finishing behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku in the race for the golden boot.

At just 21 Vlahovic looks to be a lethal striker boasting physical presence, he fits the striker profile that Mikel Arteta will be looking for.
