Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is facing a selection dilemma regarding Alexandre Lacazette.
Mikel Arteta was questioned as to why he did not bring on Alexandre Lacazette during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Norwich.
The Gunners struggled to put the ball into the net and finally put one in in a scrappy fashion as Aubameyang scored from close range.
Last season’s top scorer watched from the bench again. Lacazette is yet to start a game for Arsenal this season and has only managed two substitute appearances scoring a goal of the bench against West Brom.
Arteta faces a dilemma on how to utilize the French striker as his contract expires next summer. It is unlikely that the 30-year-old will renew his contract and he will most likely run it down and leave once it expires.
However, Arsenal still need his services. Lacazette is the only player currently besides Aubameyang capable of guaranteeing more than fifteen goals in a season.
Arsenal can’t afford to bench him all season especially with Aubameyang tending to misfire more often, Arteta must find a way to keep the former Lyon striker motivated and focused for as long as he wears the Arsenal shirt.
