Arsenal will this week on Sunday face the UEFA Champions League Champions Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium and this will be a must win game for Mikel Arteta’s men as they won’t want to lose in their first home game, much less lose two consecutive matches. Just as if the match being against Champions League champions wasn’t hard enough, the gunners have received bad news ahead of the game against Chelsea.
Arsenal’s main strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were not involved in the Premier League season opener against Brentford due to an illness as claimed by the club but most supporters were not satisfied with this communication with some starting conspiracy theories on what the real reasons are for why the two might have missed. The gunners obviously ended up losing against Brentford and they certainly lacked a senior striker on the pitch as Arteta had started with youngsters but the fans were hopeful that their two stars would return for the Chelsea game until now.
A report by Football.London has claimed that Arsenal’s star strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are a doubt for their London Derby against Chelsea even though they missed the game against Brentford as well. These two missing will be a big blow for Mikel Arteta as Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun failed to make an impact on Friday last week against Brentford, and now the North Londoners will face a stronger side in Chelsea this weekend.
The report does not mention the reason Aubameyang and Lacazette are likely to miss the game against Chelsea so it remains a mystery which will obviously now cause the fans of the North London club to keep speculating on if their absence could mean one or both are leaving the club..
