Four players Arsenal could sign after completing Lokonga & Ben White deals

Arsenal are expected to complete deals for Sambi Lokonga and Ben White. We look at the players who could potentially follow them to the Emirates.

Arsenal announced Nuno Tavares as their first signing of the transfer window nearly two weeks ago. Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White are expected to become Arsenal’s second and third signings.

Other positions still need reinforcing especially central and attacking midfield. We look at the four other players who could switch over to north London.

1. Houssem Aouar

Aouar is still on Arsenal’s radar and is reportedly available for less than €30m which is half of what Lyon asked for last summer.

The Frenchman can play both central and attacking midfield positions making him Arsenal’s top possible signing. Aouar has attracted interest from other clubs so Arsenal will have to be quick especially when it comes to agreeing personal terms with the player.

2. Sam Johnstone

Arsenal need a second choice goalkeeper after Mat Ryan’s loan deal expired. The gunners are believed to be particularly looking for a home grown keeper to come in as Leno’s backup.

Sheffield United’s Aaron Ramsdale 23 and West Brom’s Sam Johnstone 28 are on Arsenal’s list. The West Brom keeper is the much cheaper option Arsenal could pick.

3. Ruben Neves

Granit Xhaka’s future lies away from Arsenal and his replacement is on the agenda. Arsenal are said to have bid €40m for Sassuolo and Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

The issue with Locatelli is he wants to join Juventus and is not interested in Arsenal. We anticipate Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves will be Arsenal’s immediate alternative.

4. James Maddison

Probably the boldest move Arsenal could make this summer. The Leicester City playmaker is the dream signing for many fans.

A goal scoring midfielder who also creates chances is what Arsenal need at the moment, Maddison would definitely transform Arsenal and give the fans confidence going into the new season.

Some reports claim terms have been agreed between Maddison and Arsenal but the club would have to break their transfer record to bring him in.
