BREAKING: Arsenal reach an agreement to sign Ben White from Brighton

Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to sign England centre-back Ben White from Brighton according to David Ornstein.

The Gunners have been after Ben White for more than a month after identifying him as their primary target for the central defence position.

The 23-year-old already agreed on personal terms with Arsenal and it was the negotiation between the two Premier League club’s that was slowly progressing.

Brighton have always wanted £50m for the versatile defender and finally Arsenal have reached a comprise and will pay the fees.

The deal for White is subject to a medical and a few formalities and will take some time before it is completed since the player is on holiday.

Ben White was with England at the Euros which slowed down the progress of the move but it was expected to be completed once the tournament concluded.

White is capable of playing multiple defensive positions and notable for his passing that will help Arteta’s style of playing out from the back after the departure of David Luiz.
