Exclusive: When Arsenal could sack Mikel Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is currently on thin ice after Arsenal's dismal season.

Mikel Arteta’s job is hanging in the balance and he is under scrutiny after Arsenal’s awful season. The Gunners again finished eighth in the Premier League and miss out on European football for first time in over 25 years.

At the moment Arteta’s job appears to be safe and the hierarchy aren’t thinking of dismissing him despite one of Arsenal’s worst seasons.

Arteta will be given the summer transfer window to rebuild and get his work together with the support from the Arsenal board. Although it is unclear whether the Kroenke’s who are also under pressure will financially back him once the transfer window opens.

According to an exclusive report, we understand that Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar could both be sacked next season if Arsenal happen to be outside the top 5 on the Premier League table by the half way point.

That means should Arsenal languish around the November-December period in the Premier League next season, Arteta will be relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
