Report: Arsenal’s next possible third January signing revealed as deadline day edges closer

Arsenal will still be looking to try to sign another player in the next few days before the closure of the transfer window and that possible player has been revealed.

Arsenal have been very busy in this January transfer window as they have not only been working on trying to bring in new players but also on trying to trim their squad. Among those that had to leave due to the trimming of the squad was Sead Kolasinac and his departure has left the gunners with a hole in the left back department hence the need for for a new fullback.

Arsenal are believed to be in the search for a new left back for this season and the fans have been curious as to who they are currently targeting as there hasn’t been that many reports of them trying to sign one. It’s however been revealed by a report by Football.London that the left back that Arsenal is currently monitoring at the moment is Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand and that they might be hoping to get him on a short term deal as they did with Mat Ryan.

Ryan Bertrand is an old and a Premier League well experienced left back that would be a good short term replacement for Sead Kolasinac and the above report claims that the gunners might try to keep it under the wraps until the final official announcement as they did with the Mat Ryan transfer as they announced the Australian international with most reports not having made a report ahead of that transfer. Mikel Arteta was not definite in answering whether Arsenal would indeed sign a new fullback this month.

“With the departure of Kola, we are a little bit short with left-footed full-backs at the moment.” said Mikel Arteta.

“We know we can use Ainsley there, we can use Bukayo there and we can use Cedric – who has played in that position – so we have some options. A natural option for Kieran? Obviously, we don’t. But we can adapt.”
