Brighton 0-1 Arsenal: All you need to know

Arsenal have got their second Premier League win in three days after beating Brighton & Hove Albion one nil thanks to a goal from substitute Alexandre Lacazette and these were very crucial points that Mikel Arteta will hope to build on in their next few games in 2021.

Arsenal have been poor at the Falmer Stadium in recent seasons and this contributed to the nervousness that the fans had around this match as they were not only in a poor form but had always struggled against Brighton & Hove Albion but Mikel Arteta came into this game with a similar squad that had beaten Chelsea a few days ago and it didn’t disappoint him.

The gunners were very impressive in the first opening minutes as they pressed well and created some chances but they however lost their way through it as Brighton & Hove Albion had a spell where they took control of the game, but the North Londoners were tight at the back. The first half ended 0-0 with Arsenal having only had one shot on target while The Seagulls seemed to be on the verge of getting an opening goal.

Arsenal’s start to the second half was magnificent as they created a lot of chances and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang almost gave the lead but it was however saved by the goalkeeper and a few moments later, Gabriel Martinelli almost went on the scoring sheet but his finish was way over.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta decided to spice up things and removed Gabriel Martinelli to bring in Alexandre Lacazette who then went on to score just after spending 29 seconds on the pitch. Bukayo Saka was very influential in the goal as he had to run down on the left and drove into the box before finding Lacazette who had just been on the pitch for less than one minute.

The match ended 1-0 in favour of Arsenal and Mikel Arteta will absolutely be delighted with their past two results as he really needed them to keep his job secure. Up next, the North Londoners will face West Brom Albion.
