Arsenal confirms three players that will miss today’s game against Southampton

Arsenal will today face Southampton at the Emirates Stadium and the club has confirmed the three players that will definitely miss this encounter.

The Premier League returns to the Emirates Stadium just three days after Burnley got their first win over Arsenal in this competition and this time, Mikel Arteta’s men will take on an in form Southampton side. Arsenal have released their latest team news and revealed the three players that are confirmed to miss this crucial game.

1. THOMAS PARTEY

Arsenal’s main summer signing hasn’t had a great start to life as a gunner as he has been unable to get a streak of games in the Premier League due to minor injury problems. The gunners thought that he was back from the minor injury he had when he started in the North London Derby but this decision backfired as the Ghanaian international couldn’t finish the game and the club is yet to give a return date.

The club has however confirmed that Thomas Partey will miss the Southampton game and the fans will hope that he quickly comes back as their season seems to be free falling after each and every game. Partey will be replaced by either Mohamed Elneny or Dani Ceballos.

2. GRANIT XHAKA

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka got sent off in the 1-0 loss to Burnley due to violent conduct and this will see him miss the next three Premier League games, starting with today’s game against Southampton. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was very angry with the Swiss international after the game but he has however later claimed that he will not let that mistake make him forget what Xhaka has done for the club in the past. He will be replaced by either Elneny or Ceballos.

3. HECTOR BELLERIN

Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin will miss the game against Southampton not because of an injury but because of a suspension as the Burnley game saw him receive his fifth yellow card of the season. Players receive a one match suspension when they accumulate five yellow cards in the Premier League. Bellerin will either be replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Cedric Soares.
