Arsenal have made signing a new attacking midfielder their main summer transfer window priority and its been reported by many publications that they have decided to choose Lyon star Houssem Aouar as the perfect player that would improve their side. Lyon president has now come out with a statement about the future of Houssem Aouar after he continually got linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
Houssem Aouar has been heavily linked with an exit from Lyon this summer since he is deemed as the next big thing in the footballing world due to his performances in the last two years and Arsenal have joined a great number of clubs that are pursuing the signature of the French international. Arsenal have shown to be serious about their interest in Houssem Aouar as its believed that the gunners want him to be the player that gives them the creativity that they currently need in the midfield this season since it looks like Mesut Ozil might not make a return to the starting eleven.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has for the first time mentioned Arsenal when asked about the future of Houssem Aouar as he has confirmed that the gunners are indeed interested in the French midfielder but that the North Londoners are yet to put out an offer for a player who he believes is the best footballer at his club. Jean-Michel Aulas says that the gunners seem to have failed to get the funds to sign Aouar.
“No I don’t think so [on whether #AFC will sign Aouar].. no offer yet, it seems that Arsenal don’t want to, or can’t invest the price for Houssem, who is our best player.” Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas told a reporter.
Despite the Lyon president saying that Arsenal are yet to send an offer to them, the gooners have reacted happily on social media at his statement as he said something similar about Lacazette before he made a move to the Emirates Stadium in 2017.
