Willian Borges da Silva reveals the Arsenal player that convinced him to join them

Arsenal completed the signing of Willian a few days ago and the Brazilian international has revealed the player already at the club that convinced him to come to the North Londoners.

Arsenal completed the signing of Willian Borges da Silva on a three year deal on Friday after beating a number of clubs that were also interested in the Brazilian international since he was a free agent. Willian decided to choose Arsenal and he has revealed how it isn’t only the club that made him as a player in their books also convinced him.

Willian had fifteen goals plus assists for Chelsea in the Premier League last season and he decided to not renew his deal with The Blues after it became clear that they would not meet his demands hence going to the free agent market. Arsenal were able to fend off interest from many clubs like Barcelona to get his signature.

Willian was announced as an Arsenal player on Friday and he probably has started settling at the North London club and he has revealed that David Luiz was involved in his move to the Emirates Stadium as he kept urging him to come join him. Willian also says that he is excited that he will have to play with David Luiz once again since they spent some good time at Chelsea.

“He said, ‘Come to Arsenal, come to Arsenal, I want you to come!’ So that was the conversation. He is a very nice guy, a top player and I’m very excited to play with him again.” Willian told Arsenal Digital.

“Of course [he helped in the past], many times. Many times when I had difficult times at Chelsea he was helping me a lot. He is this kind of person that wants to help, especially young players without experience. He is the guy that helps everyone.”

Arsenal fans will be hoping that the deal of Willian works out as David Luiz as despite the poor start of the Brazilian international in the 2019/20 campaign, he however later redeemed himself in the last matches of the campaign by putting in incredible performances that saw them win the 2020 FA Cup trophy.
