Report: Atletico Madrid tell Arsenal to choose one player on three players to be used in Lacazette swap deal

Alexandre Lacazette has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and the Spanish club has reportedly offered a proposal to Arsenal to select one player on a three man list to be used in a swap deal.

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is one of the players that have attracted interest from clubs in this transfer window and Atletico Madrid who have since the past always been linked with the Frenchman have reportedly made an offer to the gunners over a possible swap. Atletico Madrid have selected three players that they would be open to swap with to get Lacazette from Arsenal.

Alexandre Lacazette was not Arsenal’s best player last season as he even went on a goalless run of nine matches but the fact remains that he is still an important player at the club as he was their second top goalscorer in all competitions. The gunners are believed to be willing to listen to offers to Alexandre Lacazette and a report from Spain now claims that Atletico Madrid want to propose a swap deal.

Arsenal want to sign Thomas Partey but a report by Spanish outlet Marca confirms that even though Atletico Madrid want to sign Alexandre Lacazette in a swap deal, they however don’t want to lose the Ghanaian international and that so they want the gunners to accept a, swap deal that would consist of Lacazette and either Thomas Lemar, Angel Correa or Vitolo.

The report mentions that these are the three players that Atletico Madrid offered to swap in the January transfer window but that Arsenal rejected and that they have however come back with it with the hope that the North Londoners would accept now as they are in search of a true centre forward like Alexandre Lacazette. Thomas Lemar was one of the worst players in the Spanish LA Liga last season as he failed to register even one assist or goal for Atletico Madrid and so it’s no surprise that the gunners might not be interested in him or the other two players.

So it will be interesting to see what these two clubs will agree on as Arsenal want only Thomas Partey in the Atletico Madrid squad while the Madrid club wants Lacazette as well as keeping their Ghanaian midfielder.

  • If this is true, Atletico Madrid's transfer policy is primitive IF Partey is available for 50 million euros as per his clause. If I were Arteta, I wouldn't waste my time with them unless they're willing to incorporate Partey with a swap deal for Lacazette plus cash. Simeone may have overplayed his card here...
