Chelsea make a statement on Willian ahead of his move to Arsenal

Willian is close to a move to Arsenal according to many reports and Chelsea have made a statement on the future of the Brazilian international.

It is well known by everyone that Willian will be announced as an Arsenal player soon since most reports have already confirmed that the gunners have agreed a three year deal with him. Chelsea have on the other hand made made a statement about the Willian situation through their boss Frank Lampard.

Arsenal transfer target Willian scored nine goals as well as assisting his teammates seven times in the Premier League last season and it’s widely believed that Mikel Arteta wants a senior winger in his squad ahead of the new upcoming season as he believes that it might not be right over to overplay their young wingers. Willian will be brought in to help give the young Arsenal stars enough time to continue their development without too much pressure.

Willian missed the Emirates FA Cup final due to an injury and he will also not take part in Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 2nd leg game against Bayern Munich as confirmed by Frank Lampard who also spoke about the future of the Brazilian international. Most reports say that Willian will join Arsenal after Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League game and Lampard also hint at this as he said that the 31 year old is still their player for now but claims that he wishes him the best if he decides to end his seven year stay at the Stamford Bridge.

“He remains our player at the moment, he was injured for the cup final and injured for tomorrow and he would have given everything to play in those games.” Frank Lampard told Football.London yesterday.

“I know Willian well, I have seen him. He has carried this injury a little bit in the latter part of restart. In terms of being disappointed, certainly as a club we have done everything we can to explain to Willian.”

“Mine and his relationship is very close and I would have no feeling of disappointment if he does move on. He is a fantastic man and a fantastic player. I think he will feel like that about Chelsea.”

“I will leave him to say his own words. But I don’t want anyone to try to find a negative attitude. The club have acted very well in this as well. If he moves on I personally will wish him well. That is where we are at.”
