Arsenal release names of six players to miss clash against Manchester City

The Emirates FA Cup has returned and Arsenal have released the team news with confirmation of players that will not take part in this game.

The gunners will on Saturday face Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup semi finals at the Wembley Stadium but Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta will be without six players due to injuries and suspensions. The club has released the team news ahead of this game, confirming that six players won’t be available.

1. PABLO MARI

Pablo Mari joined Arsenal in the winter transfer window but has however been unlucky as the season came to a stop due to the COVID-19 virus when he had made it to the starting eleven and he then got injured in the 3-0 loss to Manchester City last month. Mari will miss the FA Cup game against City due to an ankle injury and it’s believed that he will be back in September.

2. CEDRIC SOARES

Cedric Soares also joined Arsenal in the same transfer window as Mari and he also won’t be available for selection against Pep Guardiola’s men not because of a suspension or injury but because he is cup tied after having played for Southampton in the FA Cup this season. Arteta will be disappointed as he put on a great performance against Liverpool a few days ago.

3. GABRIEL MARTINELLI

Gabriel Martinelli got a knee injury in training a few weeks back and confirmation that he won’t play again this year has already been released, and so he will obviously miss this weekend’s FA Cup game.

4. EDDIE NKETIAH

Arsenal young striker Eddie Nketiah got red carded in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City and his suspension will end after the game against Manchester City.

5. CALUM CHAMBERS

Calum Chambers got a knee injury in the game against Chelsea last year and he is still on the sidelines, and so he will also not be available for selection when the gunners take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi finals.

6. BERND LENO

Bernd Leno has made a lot of progress in his recovery but he still won’t be fit to play in the game against The Citizens as he will only be able to start drills with the ball in a few days time.
