Southampton Vs Arsenal Match Preview & Injury Updates

Arsenal's third game since Premier League restart and the gunners will come into this match with the hope of getting all the three points to get closer to the top four.

Arsenal will on Thursday face Southampton at the Saint Mary’s Stadium and they will be hoping to collect all the three points since losing three games in a row would put an end to their chances of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season and so Arteta will want to get it right this time as he is now nolonger free from criticism.

The gunners will come into this match with a point to prove because they are now in the 10th position and the possibility of Arsenal not playing in Europe is unthinkable as the gunners are currently in a financial crisis hence the need for money be it from Champions League or Europa League. Arteta looked to have raised the spirits at Arsenal before the COVID-19 put an abrupt stop to the Premier League but he has however been snapped back to reality as the fragility of the squad of the North Londoners is starting to be seen once again.

Southampton defeated Norwich City at the weekend and they will be hoping to beat the gunners to climb higher up the table and even though it can be a bit surprising, the gunners could be on the same points as the Saints if they lose tomorrow, and so it won’t be an easy ride for Mikel Arteta’s side since both clubs have been on similar level in this 2019/20 campaign.

INJURY UPDATES & TEAM NEWS

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has suffered many injuries since the Premier League start and so they will be without Leno, Chambers, Mari, Luiz (suspended), Martinelli, Torreira. Granit Xhaka and Cedric Soares are doubts for this game.

Southampton don’t have any injury problems at the moment but will however be without Moussa Djenepo since he is suspended.
