Report: The fan favourite players that Arteta might bench in Arsenal’s clash with Man City

Arsenal will tomorrow face Manchester City in their first game since the Premier League got suspended due to the Coronavirus and this will be a perfect opportunity for Mikel Arteta to try to get closer to the top four. This will be a game that will require Arteta to tactically be at his best and so we take a look at the fan favourite players that he could bench in this game.

1. MESUT OZIL

Mesut Ozil has played every game in the Premier League since Mikel Arteta got appointed as the new head coach of the gunners but that could however change because the Spanish coach will of course know that they will not be able to keep possession in a game against Manchester City hence making their German attacking midfielder useless as he has lost pace that would allow him to play in a counter attacking team.

Arsenal will probably want players with legs that will be able to stretch the Manchester City defence as that’s one of the ways how Manchester United have beaten them thrice in one season, Mesut Ozil despite being hugely gifted cannot play well in games with counter attacking as the tactical approach.

2. HECTOR BELLERIN

Hector Bellerin has not played for long this season due to the big injury that he sustained in a game against Chelsea in 2019 and the Spanish right back has failed to get a consistent run of games in the 2019/20 campaign. Bellerin has however been active in training in the last few weeks and has taken part in the two friendly games that the gunners have played but he might however be benched for Sokratis as Arteta has shown that he seems to have only one fullback going forward while the other is not offensive minded.
