Arsenal have been linked with a move for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho over the last 48 hours and the fans on social media have begun fantasizing as to how the Brazilian international would perform in their current squad. Coutinho has spent two years at Barcelona but he has however failed to impress there even though they paid a huge sum of money to bring him.
It’s believed that Arsenal will be hoping to struck a loan deal with Barcelona to bring Philippe Coutinho to the Emirates Stadium and so we take a look as to how the North Londoners would lineup if the 27-year-old accepted to return to the Premier League. Keep in mind, this lineup is chosen with the thought that both Lacazette and Aubameyang stay at the club for the upcoming season and that gunners have no new players apart from Coutinho.
TEXT FORM: Leno, Tierney, Luiz, Mustafi, Bellerin, Xhaka, Torreira, Aubameyang, Coutinho, Pepe, Lacazette
FORMATION: 4-2-3-1
It is well understood that Philippe Coutinho likes playing in the attacking central midfield role and that is one of the reasons why he has failed to impress at Barcelona as they kept playing him as a winger. Coutinho would be ideal for Arteta as he would be incredible competition for Mesut Ozil who has been so comfortable in the last two years and the Brazilian international was known for scoring bangers in the Premier League, the North Londoners will want for him to score some since their midfield this season has failed to get atleast one to scores atleast five goals.
Coutinho would excel at Arsenal and in this lineup as he wouldn’t have to worry a lot about defence as Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira would be doing the dirty attack while he helps the front three in trying to break down teams that might want to play defensively against the gunners.
