Lukas Podolski who was a teammate of Mesut Ozil at Arsenal for three years claims that the German international will be giving 100% under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new head coach last year and everyone was looking forward to how he was going to handle the Mesut Ozil situation since the previous coach had clashed with the German international. Former Arsenal player Lukas Podolski believes that Ozil will be performing better under Arteta than he would have done under Unai Emery.
Lukas Podolski played for Arsenal from 2012 to 2015 and he was obviously a teammate of Mesut Ozil on club level and international level as they were both part of the Germany national football team that won the 2014 World Cup. Ozil failed to form any sort of relationship with Unai Emery last season and everyone thought that the situation would be different this year but it wasn’t as the Spaniard once again started not playing the German international in matches.
Mesut Ozil has however started all the Premier League games so far played under Arteta and Lukas Podolski claims that he believes that players sometimes might not agree with managers on the way football is played. Podolski believes that Ozil will give 100% under Arteta as the were once teammates and insists that the 31-year-old attacking midfielder is still a great player.

“There is no discussion for me, he is a great player (Ozil). Sometimes there is a problem with a coach or there could be an injury, things that happen in football and you have to deal with this situation sometimes.” Lukas Podolski told Sky Sports.
“I think it’s a better fit than before (Ozil and Arteta). They have played together and know each other. Ozil is back on the pitch and the games I have seen he is doing much better than with the former coach.”
“Sometimes you have a coach and you can not deal with him. He can have a different view of football. Arteta is back at Arsenal and you see the team is much more organised, more fight and discipline. I hope they can build a good team for the next couple of years. They can do it but they have to work together.”
