Lucas Torreira was impressive for Arsenal last season but he has however seemed unhappy at the club this season and AC Milan will now once again reportedly make a move for him.

Arsenal signed Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria for €30million in the 2018 summer transfer window and he had a successful first season at the club but he has however struggled this season and he clashed with former boss Unai Emery since he wasn’t getting played in his favourite position. AC Milan will now reportedly be in for Torreira once again and the gunners have set an asking price.
Arsenal thought that they had finally fixed their defensive midfield problems in 2018 when they signed Lucas Torreira and the Uruguayan international did have an incredible first few months in England but his performances started dropping in January 2019 and he has never recovered. Arsenal’s former head coach Unai Emery decided to all over sudden play him as a box to box midfielder which has led him to him saying through his agent that he would love a return to Italy.
AC Milan have been linked with a move for Lucas Torreira since 2019 summer transfer window and it looks like they’ll still try to sign him in the upcoming transfer window as Corrieredello Sport is now reporting that the North Londoners will only let go of the 24-year-old if the Milan club can be able to pay their asking price of €40million as his value has increased in the last 12 months.
Torreira’s agent did say in the past that AC Milan is a club that excites his client and that his client wouldn’t rule out a move there but it is however worth noting that he made these comments during the Unai Emery era when the Uruguayan international wasn’t starting enough games under the Spanish boss.
The report says that AC Milan will try to sign Torreira as they believe he would be useful in helping them get back into the UEFA Champions League but that their chances of getting him have decreased due to the pandemic since it has affected the whole footballing world.
