Arsenal reportedly ready to make move for Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey has been added to Arsenal's summer transfer list as Mikel Arteta prepares to revamp his squad in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal will be looking to strengthen their side in the summer transfer window and it will probably be a very crucial transfer window as Mikel Arteta will not only be letting go of players that he doesn’t like but also try to bring in new players that could work well within his system. Current reports claim that Thomas Partey is among Arteta’s summer targets.

Thomas Partey has been very impressive for Atletico Madrid in the last two seasons and has attracted interest from other top European clubs and there were reports last summer that the gunners were interested in signing him but chose to rather sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille for a record fee but a new report by The Telegraph has confirmed that the North Londoners will once again try to sign the Ghanaian international in the summer as Arteta has included him on his wish list.

Arsenal have for long wanted a defensive midfielder and after both Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta have seemed to show that they don’t believe that Lucas Torreira can’t do that job due to his height then it isn’t surprising that the club will once again try to sign Thomas Partey. The above report claims that Partey has a release of £45million and that a source at Atletico Madrid has confirmed to them that there’s interest from a certain Premier League club.

Thomas Partey, 26, has been exceptional this season and he was very influential in Atletico Madrid’s 3-2 win over Liverpool a few days ago which has seen the Arsenal fans start calling on their club to quickly bring him in since the midfield has been one of their main problems this season.
