Wenger gives an inside story of how Arsenal lost Serge Gnabry

Serge Gnabry made his Arsenal debut in 2012 but he however didn’t get many chances in the first team of the gunners and then the North Londoners lost him to Werder Bremen in 2016 with him only having made just 10 Premier League appearances. Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed the inside story of how Serge Gnabry left the Emirates Stadium.

Serge Gnabry joined Werder Bremen in 2016 but then later moved to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and has in the last few years become a regular for the German heavyweights. Serge Gnabry has been very impressive for the German Champions in this year’s UEFA Champions League and has also made the Arsenal fans happy by scoring four goals against their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur and also did it once again by also having a brace against Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger praised Serge Gnabry for his impressive performance in the game against Chelsea last night and also gave an inside view of the situation that saw the German international leave Arsenal in 2016.

“This guy has no limitations. It is more how much he wants to suffer.” Arsene Wenger told BeinSports.

“He has pace, power and technical ability and sometimes he looks for the easy way in football and that was his problem. I gave him to West Brom and it didn’t work at all.”

“We had an agreement with him and then Bayern stole him away from Werder Bremen.”

“Because he didn’t play at West Brom I let him go with the Under-21s in the summer, the national side, and he did very well. He was refreshed and we had prepared him.”
