The January transfer window will be closing in a few days from now and the gunners are yet to sign anyone. Mikel Arteta has hint at Arsenal not signing anyone in this window.

The January transfer window has now been open for 21 days and the gunners are yet to sign any new players despite having an average season which has seen them get stuck in the 10th position. There were reports in December after Mikel Arteta’s arrival that he would be backed in this transfer window but we are still yet to see the gunners make any notable moves.
Arsenal’s objective this season is to get back in the UEFA Champions League be it through a Premier League top four finish or through the winning of the UEFA Europa League and Mikel Arteta has been trusted with this task and it’s going to be interesting to see if he will achieve it. The gunners have however faced some injuries to key players in the past few weeks and this has seen Arteta get just one win in his first five Premier league games.
The Arsenal fans are crying out for new signings but Mikel Arteta has however hint at the gunners not signing a single player in this January transfer window, he said “It’s a possibility, yes.” when asked if the North London club might not sign anyone in the coming days in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Chelsea. Arteta reaffirmed this by confirming that they won’t sign players just for the sake of bringing in anyone in order to avoid deals like that of Denis Suarez last season.
“I would not be unhappy without anyone in because we couldn’t, it’s because the players have to be players who can really help us and make a difference in the squad, not just [signing] for the sake of bringing in players.” Arteta told Arsenal’s official website.
Arsenal hasn’t been linked with many players in this transfer window and it looks like Arteta’s statement reveals why as it looks like he will want to sign the right player instead of bringing in just anyone.
