Arsenal will tonight have the chance of qualifying to the UEFA Europa League final if they beat Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium. Unai Emery will be hoping to upset his former club by defeating them at their home stadium so let us take a look at the expected lineup with all eyes on Aubameyang and Lacazette.
PREDICTED ARSENAL LINEUP TO FACE VALENCIA
Cech, Monreal, Sokratis, Koscielny, Maitland-Niles, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette
FORMATION: 3-4-1-2
GOALKEEPING:
Petr Cech has been promised to start in all of Arsenal’s UEFA Europa League matches this season. This won’t be ending tonight as Unai Emery will probably keep his word to the veteran goalkeeper.
DEFENCE:
Arsenal will probably use a back three in this match and it will consist of Monreal, Sokratis and Koscielny. The gooners will be hoping that these three don’t disappoint them as keeping the score line 0-0 for the rest of the game would see them go into the finals.
WINGBACKS:
Stephan Lichtsteiner has traveled with the squad but he will however not start since Ainsley Maitland-Niles is available. So Arsenal’s wingbacks will be Kolasinac and Maitland-Niles.
CENTRAL MIDFIELD:
Even though Granit Xhaka became a villain amongst Arsenal fans on Sunday, he won’t be dropped because Unai Emery rates him ahead of most his central midfielders. The Swiss international will be paired with Lucas Torreira since they will want to be defensively solid.
ATTACKING MIDFIELDER:
The 3-4-1-2 formation allows Arsenal to use a central attacking midfielder and since Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out of form and Aaron Ramsey is injured, the gunners will probably field Mesut Ozil to play behind the two strikers.
STRIKING:
Aubameyang and Lacazette will start as strikers in this match because Unai Emery will be hoping that they could be the first team to get on the score sheet.
