Unai Emery speaks out on Welbeck’s contract situation

Danny Welbeck's current contract at Arsenal will expire at the end of this season and Unai Emery has made a comment about this.

Danny Welbeck arrived at the Emirates Stadium in 2014 but he has up-to now failed to get into the first starting eleven under two managers because of inconsistency and injuries which some have even kept him out for a full season.

Danny Welbeck’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium will expire at the end of this season and there hasn’t been any announcement on if the English striker will receive a new deal from the North Londoners even though he is currently injured. Welbeck did show signs progressing under Unai Emery at the start of the season because he was able to bang in five goals before he got ruled out for the rest of the season.

Arsenal has however received a huge boost as Danny Welbeck has started training at the pitch and there are some chances that he might play in the last weeks of this season if everything goes according to plan. Arsenal head coach Unai Emery spoke about the injury of Danny Welbeck and also claimed that his contract situation would then be dealt with later by the club.

“It’s difficult for him to play matches this season but he is progressing very well and maybe the doctor will tell us he can come train with us in the last weeks of this season.” Unai Emery told Sky Sports.

“After, his individual thing is to speak with the club [about his future].”
