Xhaka, Ozil and Mustafi react on Arsenal’s win over BATE Borisov

Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi have all reacted on Arsenal's win over Bate Borisov.

Arsenal faced Bate Borisov last night and it was an anticipated match amongst the gooners because their chances of winning the UEFA Europa League were on the line because they lost one nil in the first leg. Granit Xhaka, Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Ozil were all selected in the starting eleven and Arsenal  progressed thanks to a 3-0 win.

MESUT OZIL

It was a very special night for Mesut Ozil because he had to make sure that he impresses Unai Emery and the fans so that he could avoid getting omitted from match day squads. The German play maker looked lively in the whole game and his passing accuracy was more than 90%, and his link up with Alex Iwobi was just a joy to watch because he kept feeding the Nigerian winger good passes on the flank.

Even though he did not get on the score sheet or make any assist, he had a great performance that needs applauding considering that the gunners have been without him in the last three matches. The midfielder reacted on the win by tweeting this message to the fans.

“Such a good feeling to stand on the pitch again. Great performance from the whole team overall.” wrote Ozil.

GRANIT XHAKA

Granit Xhaka had a slight injury a few weeks back but he has returned and has been in the starting eleven of Arsenal in the last two matches vs Bate Borisov. The central midfielder bossed the midfield and he was the link between the defence and attack in both the defending and attacking moments.

Xhaka made two great assists that were very helpful in making sure that Arsenal goes into the Europa League round of 16. The Swiss international took to Instagram to thank the fans.

He wrote;

“ Professional performance, viral victory, come back complete. Thanks for your support Gunners.”

SHKODRAN MUSTAFI

Shkodran Mustafi is one of the most criticised Arsenal players this season because he is prone to blunders that cost the team sometimes. The defender was however fantastic last night and even got a goal that was very important because the gunners were still 1-1 on aggregate.

Shkodran Mustafi will be hoping to keep up with this performance in their upcoming matches so that he doesn’t get benched despite Sokratis’ return. The Arsenal defender took to Twitter to react on the match.

He wrote;

“Smashing response from the whole team! Bring on the last 16.”
