Unai Emery closing in on Aaron Ramsey’s replacement

Arsenal are reportedly close to signing Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez in this January transfer window. Out of favour Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is said to be on Arsenal’s radar and could come in as a replacement to Aaron Ramsey who is set to depart for Juventus according to the Express.

The 25-year-old, who had a two year spell with Manchester City, played for Arsenal boss Unai Emery while on loan at Sevilla where he had his best spells. Suarez has made just six appearances this season, including one as a substitute in the Champions League draw with Tottenham. He is eager to play more regularly and Arsenal would like to take him on an initial loan.

However Barcelona would prefer to sell and are willing to accept an offer in the range of £20million. Suarez is a versatile player he can play as a deep-lying play-maker, behind the striker and is also comfortable on either of the flanks.

Suarez is a talented player but hasn’t really proved his worth at the Spanish club due to lack of playing time and other factors including the quality of players Barcelona has in that position.

If Arsenal manage to sign him he might be able to prove his quality and improve his talent given enough playtime under Emery.
