Unai Emery: Arsenal can lose even if Ozil starts

Mesut Ozil has been on the sidelines for a few weeks but he recently returned to full training but Unai Emery didn't travel with him to the London Stadium.

Mesut Ozil took part in Arsenal’s training sessions done during the week but he was however left out of the squad that played on Saturday against West Ham United because Unai Emery thought it was best that he stayed home. Unai Emery has today confirmed that the gunners can still lose even if “Ozil plays”.

This hasn’t been the first time that Unai Emery has decided to leave Mesut Ozil out of the squad and it seems there’s a lot of internal matters which we really don’t know at the moment. So Arsenal faced West Ham United without Mesut Ozil who is considered to be one of their most creative players, and they actually missed him because they struggled to create enough chances throughout the full 90 minutes.

A disappointed Unai Emery had his post-match press conference after their 1 nil loss to West Ham United and he was asked about why Mesut Ozil was not in the match day squad that faced the hammers.

“I decided the players who are the best for this match. We win with him and lose with him. Not one player is for sale.” said Unai Emery telling the reporters.

It seems the situation is getting out of hand at the Emirates Stadium because the Arsenal coach has now shown that he doesn’t like Mesut Ozil despite the German international being one of the fan favourites at the North London club.
