Report: Why Unai Emery MUST start Mesut Ozil against West Ham United

Arsenal will on Saturday make a visit to the London Stadium to face West Ham United.

Mesut Ozil has returned to the Arsenal squad after having been on the sidelines for two weeks because of a knee injury which he sustained in training before their match against Liverpool. It is no secret that Unai Emery doesn’t trust Mesut Ozil in an intense matches but here are a few reasons why he should start against West Ham United.

ARSENAL HAS LACKED CREATIVITY IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS

The gunners have scored seven goals in the last two matches but it was quite expected because their opponents were weak. Fulham are one of the worst teams in the Premier League this season and one wouldn’t expect the gunners to struggle against them, and for Blackpool, Arsenal used a squad consisting of youngsters and they were able to get a 3-0 win.

Mesut Ozil was needed in Arsenal’s match against Liverpool because the gunners failed to get the ball to Aubameyang who was playing as a solo striker in the formation which Unai Emery used. Aubameyang was criticized for having few touches in that match because he was lonely in the attack but it would have been at least better if Ozil was on the pitch because he makes chances out of nothing, we saw this in Arsenal’s match against Burnley when he sent an exceptional pass to Kolasinac who then passed to Aubameyang who scored.

ARSENAL DON’T HAVE RELIABLE WINGERS

Some Arsenal fans expected the gunners to sign wingers in this transfer window but Unai Emery has already confirmed that there’s no money to spend. Arsenal’s wingers aren’t impressive at times and they usually depend on creativity from their full backs so what would be the purpose of benching Mesut Ozil, your best play maker yet your wingers won’t be getting the ball to your strikers.

So Arsenal boss Unai Emery needs to find way to include Mesut Ozil in the starting eleven that plays against West Ham United on Saturday.
