Report: One mistake that Bernd Leno has been doing this season

Arsenal signed Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window hoping that he would be a big competition to Petr Cech to become Unai Emery’s first choice goalkeeper and he has won that battle because he is now used ahead of the Czech Republican international.

Even though Bernd Leno has proven that he is better than Petr Cech but he has leaked goals each week. It’s very worrying for the gunners because they will need to avoid conceding to have hope of getting into the Premier League top four. Everyone usually forgives Bernd Leno for having a poor defence but he does have make some mistakes too, like one which we gonna outline here.

BERND LENO NEEDS TO STAY ON HIS LINE

Bernd Leno is a very fast goalkeeper who is young and energetic but one of his main problems is that he doesn’t stay on his line for unknown reasons, maybe because he doesn’t trust his defence. He is always leaving his line and this has costed the gunners sometimes this season like the recently played Fulham game, they stole the ball and passed it to Sessegnon on the flank and Leno was not on his line as the Fulham player passed it to Kamara who scored in an empty net.

That goal was similar to the one Mane scored a few days back because Leno tried to approach Salah who had already passed the ball to the African star. So Unai Emery will need to work on this with his goalkeeping coaches because this will be bad for the club and Bernd Leno’s goalkeeping if he can’t figure out a way to always stay on his line.
