Arsenal boss Unai Emery makes a move for Juventus centre back

Arsenal has this season been criticized for having a poor defence because it has conceced a lot of goals and their porous backline was totally exposed a few weeks back when they received a 5-1 beating from Liverpool. Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been urged to sign some defenders in the January transfer window.

The gunners are expected to sign a new defender in the coming days and a report by the Mirror claims that Arsenal has made a move for Juventus centre back Medhi Benatia who has fallen out of favour at the Italian champions. It is believed that Unai Emery understands the need for a new defender because he has in the last few weeks been using some players out of position because of the injury crisis.

The report claims that Medhi Benatia could be part of the deal which would see Juventus take Aaron Ramsey in this January transfer window because rumours claim that the Italian club wants him now as it hopes to finally win the UEFA Champions League this season.

Medhi Benatia is currently 31 years old and his experience could be important for Arsenal because they have been sloppy at defending this season so getting him would be helpful to Unai Emery as he tries to build a strong backline.
