Unai Emery promises to use a strong squad against Tottenham Hotspur

The gunners will tomorrow take on their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup but Arsenal will however come into this match with disappointment after they lost their unbeaten run thanks to relegation battling Southampton on Sunday. This match is from a different competition and a win will take the gunners to the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals.

Carabao Cup is a competition where most top Premier League clubs use to test the talents of their youngsters but the upcoming Arsenal match will be different because it will be a North London Derby and this will be the second time they face Tottenham Hotspur in December. This match is very important for Arsenal fans and there were fears that Unai Emery would play a weak team against Spurs because it’s the Carabao Cup but he has however promised to use a strong squad while speaking ahead of this game.

“Our first idea is that we play with better players. You cannot use too many young players] in this derby because the opposition is a very big opposition and this demands from us a big performance tomorrow.” Unai Emery told Sky Sports.

“We can maybe use some young players because we think they can give a big performance and can help us to win tomorrow.”

Arsenal defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 a few weeks back and they will be hoping to do the same again tomorrow, luckily for them, the match will be played at the Emirates Stadium so they will have home support. The gunners will be hoping to progress to the final of the Carabao Cup so that Unai Emery gets silverware in his first season and Arsenal has spent over 20 years without winning this competition.
