Vorskla 0-3 Arsenal: Unai Emery can win with boys

Arsenal is now unbeaten in 18 games after thrashing Vorskla 3-0 thanks to goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Joe Willock and Aaron Ramsey who scored in a penalty spot kick. Their win against the Ukrainian side means they have qualified to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 as group leaders despite there being one more game.

Unai Emery used a squad which had many youngsters and they surprisingly looked calm and composed on the ball even though they were playing in a location which has cold temperature conditions. Vorskla was totally outclassed in the first half because the gunners first found the back of the net after Nketiah received a good pass from Ramsey in the opponent’s box and the young striker tried to find space to shoot but failed, and the ball landed on Smith Rowe’s feet who scored.

Joe Willock doubled Arsenal’s lead minutes later and he finished it off with a great shot which directly into the back of the net. The gunners got a penalty after Aaron Ramsey was fouled in the Vorskla box and the Wales international tricked the goalkeeper, and scored. So the first half ended 3 nil in favour of the gunners.

The second half was all about Arsenal again because the gunners returned with same confidence as in the first 45 minutes, Emile Smith Rowe made it 0-4 but his goal was disallowed for being offside yet he wasn’t ( my opinion). Unai Emery made the following substitutions in the second half to rest some players.

Saka replaced Aaron Ramsey

Charlie Gilmour replaced Matteo Guendouzi

So it’s basically 18 games unbeaten for the gunners and they will be hoping to make it 19 on Sunday by winning in the North London Derby. Unai Emery goes back to London with a smile on his face.
