Aubameyang and Lacazette have been outstanding this season because they have scored a combined total of 12 goals but the problem has been that the North Londoners use a formation that does not support two centre forwards. So Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery has used Aubameyang on the left-wing position while Lacazette plays as a central attacker.
Unai Emery didn’t use them together in their first matches into the new season but later bought the idea of starting them together in matches. Both Aubameyang and Lacazette have been in the starting eleven of Arsenal that has played their last three Premier League matches which have all ended as draws.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said that choosing whether to start them together or only one depends on their upcoming match because every game has its own demands.
“We are in a process. It will work for one game but then not for another. You have to look for answers to all different matches, I love analysing them.” Unai Emery is quoted by the Metro.
“When I left Valencia, I told the president that I was more analytical of coaches than of players. I don’t have time to analyse players. I am more tactical. Wenger, for example, was more about pure football, more of a player coach.”
It seems Unai Emery believes that him and Arsene Wenger are different because of their different coaching styles. Even though most analysis shows that Aubameyang and Lacazette might perform well in a 4-4-2 formation, the Arsenal boss has not shown any signs of changing his formation to get the most out of these two attackers.
Arsenal’s next match is against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium and most fans will be hoping to see Aubameyang and Lacazette in the starting eleven because the Cherries are a tough opponent.
