Arsenal: The latest on Ousmane Dembele’s future

Ousmane Dembele is a young and talented footballer. Among his many talents are blistering pace and an eye for goal. Dembele was bought after Barcelona failed to complete a move for Coutinho.

After just a few matches, the French capped forward sustained an injury that kept him out for a couple of months. This slowed his progress at Barcelona. As if that was not enough Barcelona went ahead to acquire the services of Coutinho and Malcome adding competition on the flanks.

Many will remember the Zlatan Scandle that finally ended with the tall striker leaving in the winter just spending 6 months in Catalonia. Although Dembele may not have the same circumstances that surrounded the Zlatan saga but the prospect of the French man leaving prematurely is becoming a rumour that is sounding louder and louder. After all both have discipline issues and Dembele did force his way out of Germany.

Barcelona has not said anything about the possible transfer but for Suarez to come out in the open to discuss Dembele’s issue is clear that there are serious concerns about his disciplinary problems.

El Barca is a club that boasts of discipline from ‘la masia’ level all the way to the senior squad, hence they would not tolerate any player tarnishing that image. Honestly I think they will let him go if he doesn’t change his ways. It’s just a matter of time, with the rumored destinations being Liverpool and Arsenal.

A move Liverpool would make sense because of Klopp. The problem would be the competition for positions at the Merseyside Club and if they would pay the money for reinforcement when the team seems to be doing well.

The Arsenal move would work as Dembele would fancy playing with his former teammates Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan in addition to that he would be an instant starter and he can also be used as a winger. However the price tag that Barcelona would place on Dembele may be the biggest obstacle as they would want to recover what they spent on him.

It is not clear if Dembele would prefer playing second fiddle at Barcelona or if the Catalonia outfit will bear with him any longer. If there is some truth in the rumors it’s more likely that Dembele may end up at a high spending clubs like Paris Saint Germain or Manchester United and not Arsenal or Liverpool unless he hand picks his next club.
