Arsenal Legend Reveals What Unai Emery Is Doing To The Arsenal Squad

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been at the Emirates Stadium for six months and Nigel Winterburn enters the list of people who appreciate the work of the Spanish international.

Unai Emery was appointed as Arsenal’s new head coach in May and even though the current gunners boss had coached big clubs like Paris Saint Germain, everyone knew how the Spanish international was going to find it hard to make changes at a club that was coached by the same person for two decades.

Unai Emery has however surprised everyone with how he has transformed the Arsenal team as he tries to teach them his new philosophy, the gunners lost its first two matches against Manchester City and Chelsea but the gunners have since then gone on a winning streak of 14 games.

Even though the gunners are currently fifth on the Premier League table, they are still unbeaten in the other competitions and their recent 1-1 draw with Liverpool showed how Unai Emery has made some changes in the Arsenal squad because it now has great fighting spirit. Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn has revealed what the good thing Unai Emery has done to his squad.

“What Unai Emery has done to this team is he has made them stay focused, made them stay competitive, the performance may not be to perfection but they’re hanging in there in games.” He told Love Sport Radio.

Winterburn also spoke of how the gunners are now composed even when they are a goal behind but they keep fighting until the referee blows the whistle for full-time. The Arsenal fans have also been happy with Unai Emery’s performance because he has shown that he can fully change their philosophy while keeping the club’s tradition of attacking football.
