The gunners have qualified to the next round of the UEFA Europa League after making a 0-0 draw with Sporting Lisbon and this should be good news for Arsenal fans to celebrate but the events that took place during the match have left most of them speechless.
Arsenal came into this match with their second eleven and we only had a few players that are regular starters, Holding, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan. The match started smoothly for the gunners and they controlled the first few minutes but were unable to break through the defence of Sporting Lisbon, had a couple of chances but still didn’t score.
The horrific night started when Arsenal’s striker Danny Welbeck tried head a cross in but his head didn’t touch the ball well and he fell down, unfortunately for him, a Sporting Lisbon player fell on him and it looks like he has got a broken ankle as per the observation. Unai Emery then brought in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but the first half still ended 0-0 despite Arsenal having most of the possession.

The second half was quite similar because Sporting Lisbon again stayed in their half and used counter attacks when they get the chance to hold the ball. Arsenal pressed them so much but the defence of the Portuguese side was intact and composed. Unai Emery then later brought in Sead Kolasinac who replaced Carl Jenkinson and the forgotten right back was applauded by the fans for his contribution.
Arsenal made several attacking moves but they all failed and Unai Emery then told Eddie Nketiah to prepare to go into the match, but as he was about to go in, Lichtsteiner got injured and the boss had to change his decision, and then brought in Maitland-Niles instead. In the last minutes of the game, Sporting Lisbon got one of their players sent off after he fouled Aubameyang but the gunners failed to capitalize on that. The match ended 0-0 and Arsenal’s unbeaten run continues.
