Analysis: Is Aubameyang And Lacazette Partnership Still Working

The gunners have both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in their record books and it’s fascinating how lucky Arsenal is to have these two great strikers in their squad but the problem has however been how to use them while maintaining the club’s prefered formation of 4-2-3-1.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery said that he doesn’t want to start them together because he needs balance in his squad because having two strikers on the pitch is a bit dangerous if you want to play a defensive game, the fans however urged the coach to use them together and  they too also seemed dangerous when playing together when one has been brought into the game as a substitute in the first matches of the season. So Unai Emery is now including both of them in the starting eleven, so the question is, are they still impressing when they start together or better off being one as a substitute?

The answer is no. Well if we are to say that is not working these days to include them in the starting eleven, then that’s right if we can look at Arsenal’s matches against Fulham and Leicester City. Aubameyang was left on the bench and was brought into the game in the second half when the gunners took on Fulham, he made significant impact as he scored a brace in the few minutes he was on the pitch. The same thing happened against Leicester City because Aubameyang scored another brace in just three minutes after coming on as a substitute. So this kinda of proves that they shouldn’t be starting together, one should come as a back up.

The Arsenal fans just want to see them start together aside from the tactical disadvantages of that decision, but there are also right because always leaving Aubameyang on the bench will see him lose his confidence which hugely contributes to his performances. I think it all depends on the type of match Arsenal has next because Unai Emery was right to start them together against Liverpool because they have got many attackers too so the boss wanted his team to be similar and also play an attacking game.

So what do you prefer, both Aubameyang and Lacazette starting or one coming in as a super subsitute?
