Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil signed a new long-term deal this year to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium but he will however now have to work with new gunners boss Unai Emery who has own tactics which are different from the ones used by his predecessor.
Some football pundits thought that Unai Emery would drop Mesut Ozil from the starting eleven because he is considered to be lazy but the Spanish coach always uses him when he is fully fit but he however uses him in a different position. Mesut Ozil used to play as a Central Attacking Midfielder (CAM) under Arsene Wenger but Unai Emery has used him on the right flank for some unknown reason.
Arsenal fans have not been happy with this decision by Unai Emery because they believe that Mesut Ozil is far more better when played in the Central Attacking Midfield role because that’s the position he has played in most in his footballing career.
There were some reports that Mesut Ozil and Unai Emery had a bust up a few weeks ago because the new Arsenal boss changed his position, the German international has revealed how the CAM role is his best position but he says that he will follow what ever the coach says.
“For me it is not my best position, I think my best position is as a No 10 but at the end of the day I have to accept and respect what the coach decides.” Mesut Ozil told Sky Sports.
“So I have to give everything I can on the right side, it’s new for me but it’s fun for me as well, especially with the goals and I will continue to give my best on that side.”
It seems Mesut Ozil is also happy that he has scored in his new position but the Arsenal fans believe that he will no longer be the assist king if Unai Emery doesn’t reconsider his decision and start playing him in the Central Attacking Midfield role.
