Mesut Ozil was chosen as the captain of Arsenal in their match against Leicester City and the German international had an incredible performance as the gunners made it 10 wins in a row.
Arsenal was poor in the first half because they conceded an own goal after Hector Bellerin’s leg deflected the ball into the back of the net but the gunners equalised in the last minutes of the first half when Mesut Ozil scored a simple beautiful goal to make it 1-1.
The gunners were on fire in the second half as they looked for a winning goal and Mesut Ozil was again involved in Arsenal’s second goal because he sent a through ball to Hector Bellerin who then passed it to Aubameyang and the Gabonian international scored.
Arsenal’s third goal was scored by Aubameyang who got assisted by un selfish Mesut Ozil in the second half. Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin has given his comment on the performance of Mesut Ozil last night and he says that the German international always gives his best for the club.
“Mesut is a player that always keeps giving his best and is always surprising everyone and he’s a player that we’re very grateful and very lucky to have.” Mesut Ozil told Arsenal.com.
“When the team play well with good football and he can find space he’s always a killer with his passes and finishes, so for us to have a player like him in the team is very important.”
Mesut Ozil has always been called lazy and that he doesn’t perform well when needed but his performance when against Leicester City was exceptional, even though he isn’t a type of captain who will shout to the players to give them orders but he did his best to help his team get back into the game.
