Unai Emery Finally Chooses His First Choice Goalkeeper

Arsenal currently has four goalkeepers in its record books and they are David Ospina, Petr Cech, Bernd Leno and Emilliano Martinez and the manager has been adamant to choose who will be his first choice goalkeeper even though the gunners kick off their 2018/19 campaign on Sunday.

It is however claimed by Telegraph that Unai Emery has finally made his decision and chose Petr Cech to be his first choice goalkeeper throughout the 2018/19 season even though the goalkeeper is very old and no longer has the trust of the Arsenal supporters.

The report says that Arsenal manager Unai Emery decided to choose the Czech Republican as his first choice goalkeeper because of his leadership skills and, that is likely to be true because Unai Emery recently released the list of five players who he chose as captains and Petr Cech was among so this could have enticed the coach to make him his first choice goalkeeper because he will want the leader in his squad to always be on the pitch.

This will come as a surprise to many because they expected the manager to choose Bernd Leno as his first choice goalkeeper because he is the one that initiated the signing of him from Bayer Leverkusen this summer but it seems he has changed his mind after the completion of the Pre-season matches.

Petr Cech was first linked with a move away from Arsenal when the gunners had just completed the signing of Bernd Leno but the veteran goalkeeper quickly dismissed the rumours and confirmed that he will finish his contract at the Emirates Stadium so he won’t be leaving until then.

Petr Cech will likely be in-goal on Sunday when the gunners face Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium and Unai Emery will need nothing but excellence from him in that match.
