OFFICIAL: Sokratis Papastathopoulos Joins Arsenal

Arsenal has officially announced the signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal has completed the signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund for undisclosed fee but it’s finally official after many weeks of speculations on the status of the deal.

The club announced the signing of the defender via their official website and have also revealed that the Greek international will be wearing the Arsenal jersey number 5 which was previously worn by Gabriel Paulista.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos becomes Unai Emery’s third signing since he was appointed the new manager of Arsenal and the supporters are quite impressed with the way how the new boss is handling transfers because their previous manager Arsene Wenger always preferred buying new players in the last days of the transfer window.

The gunners have already also confirmed the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno and the North Londoners are also said to be on the verge of signing Uruguay international Lucas Torreira.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been among the top performing defenders in the Bundesliga so he will be hoping to also do that same in the Premier League next season because the Arsenal supporters believe that he will be an impressive signing.
