Vieira Reveals That Arsenal Executives Contacted Him On Replacing Wenger

Patrick Vieira was among the candidates to replace Arsene Wenger when the club was still searching for a replacement for the Frenchman and the Arsenal legend has revealed what happened.

Arsene Wenger surprised everyone when he revealed in April that he will be resigning from his position as Arsenal manager at the end of the 2017/18 season. His decision was the start of many transfer rumours about who will be replacing the French manager.

Arsenal finally finished off all those rumours a few weeks ago after it appointed Unai Emery as their new manager who has already started feeling at home at the club as he has even made his first signing as gunners boss.

Former Arsenal Star and legend Patrick Vieira was among the people who were reported to be among the candidates to replace Arsene Wenger and he has confirmed that he did get approached by the Arsenal officials as they had a conversation but says it didn’t go further.

“Their executives met through a process which included a conversation with me but it didn’t go any further.” said the Arsenal legend telling the Times.

The Arsenal fans were however willing to accept Patrick Vieira as their new manager because they never wanted Mikel Arteta as their next manager because he has no experience in managing a top club.
