OFFICIAL: Granit Xhaka Signs New Long-Term Contract To Extend Stay At Arsenal

Arsenal has announced that Granit Xhaka has signed a new long-term deal to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal has confirmed that Granit Xhaka has signed a new long-term contract which will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium for some more seasons, the club confirmed this on its official website arsenal.com.

Xhaka was playing as a central midfielder for the gunners last season and featured for the club in all 38 Premier League matches since the manager Arsene Wenger trusted the Swiss international so much. The North Londoners have been linked with Lucas Torreira who some believe will be coming to Arsenal to replace Xhaka but extending his deal seems to show that the club will put faith in him last season.

Granit Xhaka was criticized by many Arsenal supporters last season who believed that he was not that good in the midfield because most football analysts labeled the Arsenal midfield as too open because the defensive midfielder wasn’t at his best but Unai Emery doesn’t agree as he has decided to offer him a new deal.

Xhaka had a message for the Arsenal fans after signing a new deal and the club released the video of the midfielder saying how he feels about signing a new deal.

Xhaka said;

“I’m happy and proud to sign a new contract here for Arsenal and I hope for good results here in the future.”
