Bernd Leno became Arsenal's second signing of the summer and the German international has explained the player which convinced him to come to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal completed the signing of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen this month and the German international became Unai Emery’s first signing.

The goalkeeper comes to the Emirates Stadium to try to fix goalkeeping problems which the London has faced for years, The new signing Bernd Leno has revealed how he first got convinced by Shkodran Mustafi in the past to join the gunners.

Shkodran Mustafi arrived at the Emirates Stadium in the 2016 summer transfer window and he has become an important player at the club and it seems he is happy there as Bernd Leno says that the player also played a role in his transfer to Arsenal.

“I talked with Musti about Arsenal many months ago.” the goalkeeper is quoted by Daily Star.

“He said its a fantastic club with a fantastic stadium and fans. I watched games on the TV in Germany and yes, Arsenal is a fantastic club.”

Bernd Leno says that he has known Shkodran Mustafi for about eleven years because they were even together in the Germany national youth football team in the under-15’s before going to the under-21’s squad where they still played together.

Leno says that he is happy that they are now reunited with his old friend Mustafi at Arsenal and is looking forward to being a good signing for the North Londoners who have much faith in him since he is a proven young goalkeeper.
