The gunners took on Diego Simeone's men last night and were humbly beaten 1-0 by the Spanish side after they played a defensive match.

The gunners played against Atletico Madrid last night and were defeated 1-0 thanks to a first half goal from Diego Costa.

The Arsenal squad travelled to the Spanish capital well knowing that they needed a win to confirm their qualification to the Europa League and the manager started his strong squad but they failed to get past the defensive minded Atletico Madrid team who defended their one goal lead up to when the referee blew the whistle for full-time.
