Wenger On Why Mesut Ozil Will Start Today’s Match Against Ostersunds

The gunners travelled to Sweden yesterday and arrived safely ahead of their Europa League round of 32 tie against Ostersunds today.

Arsene Wenger travelled with a strong squad which included the World Cup winner Mesut Ozil who will be playing his first Europa League this season because the manager was always resting him.

The manager didn’t rest him and he has revealed why;

“We want to do well in this competition. We played on Saturday, we play tomorrow night.’ said the manager after arriving last night in Sweden.

‘Over the weekend we have no game. So we have one week without competition. It’s important our players keep at the competitive level.” the manager told arsenal.com.

Although the manager has his own reasons for bringing along their top players on this journey, some are worried because the team will be playing on an artificial stadium where there is a high risk of getting an injury, yet Arsenal are soon playing a final against Manchester City.
