The gunners today outperformed Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates stadium and Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi were among top performers in the North London derby.

Arsenal defeated Spurs 2-0 thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Shkodran Mustafi who opened the scoring thanks to a cross from Mesut Ozil who has been handed the man of the match award thanks to a remarkable performance from the German international.

Mesut Ozil says that he is very happy that Shkodran Mustafi is back from the sidelines and is delighted to be the player that has assisted all of Mustafi’s three Arsenal goals in his career at the Emirates stadium. Here is what he said about his fellow German compatriot;

“Yes, of course. We are happy the fans are happy and we are happy to have Musti back.’ The playmaker told arsenal.com.

‘He showed his quality today and you see our defence is more stable and more compact.’

The defender was very outstanding in the North London derby today defensively and offensively because he scored the opening goal that gave momentum to the rest of the Arsenal players who also looked calm and very charismatic when playing against their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Mesut Ozil was very outstanding today and he performed very well despite the rumours circulating concerning the future of the German international but he left all that behind and gave the supporters a remarkable performance which they will never forget. The German international had this to say about today’s performance;

“Really on the pitch, I just think about the team and myself and everything on the pitch. Today our aims were to do everything, believes in ourselves and at the end of the day we won the game and are very happy.”

The gunners will be happy that Mesut Ozil is still giving the supporters a good performance even though most reports say that the German international is interested in living the Emirates stadium in the January transfer window with a number of European clubs like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona ready to try and bid for the playmaker.
